A standalone demo disc of Crash Nitro Kart was released on GameStop stores. It's a very unfinished build and contains numerous differences from the final game. According to the modification dates of the files, the demo is dated around July 8th, 2003. Most of the content unused within the demo itself can also be found in the Official PlayStation 2 Magazine Demo.

The demo features two playable race tracks: Jungle Boogie and Out of Mime.
