Cho Ren Sha 68K (超連射68k) is a vertically scrolling dōjin shoot 'em up developed and published by Koichi "Famibe No Yosshin" Yoshida for the Sharp X68000 in 1995 at Comiket. The title roughly translates to Ultra Rapid Fire 68K in english.
Heavily inspired by other titles in the genre such as Battle Garegga (which came a year later), Batsugun (which is heralded by some as the first bullet hell shooter), Truxton II, 1942, Vulgus and most notably Star Force, Cho Ren Sha 68K is notable for its fast-paced gameplay, depth, unusual power-up and scoring systems. It is also noted for its chiptune soundtrack composed by Ruzarin "Loser" Kashiwagi, which was made available separately in Japan originally by Denkai Laboratory on August 14, 1998. Taking place in a giant and seemingly-endless ring-shaped space station, the player takes control of a unnamed spaceship battling against a variety of futuristic enemy spacecrafts.
