Stormworks is a game where the player must create vehicles to complete a variety of missions. To accomplish this task, vehicles must be built. Each vehicle is made out of a variety of blocks that are used as the hull. The player may then add a variety of propulsion systems to the hull which range from large helicopter propellers to drive wheels for cars. One of the best features included is the in-depth logic system. This system allows players to program, which can include “and” and “or”. It is almost like creating a sentient vehicle. If a break from creating is necessary, there is a wide variety of readymade vehicles available on the workshop. Once the vehicles are built, the player can use them in missions. Missions provide cash but also require certain vehicles specs. These specs can range from extra cargo room to connectors that attach to something that is floating and must be retrieved. After receiving cash, the player can spend it on more blocks as career mode only provides a certain amount of blocks before more must be bought. Cash also allows the player to buy new islands in career mode which provide a larger building space and new vehicle types because they include objects like an airfield or a helipad. The game uses a low polygon art style which fits this game perfectly as it matches the building blocks aesthetic. The music is all right, but is a bit forgettable. The sound design is quite good and is realistic. The hum of a motor and the lapping of waves against a boat vehicle makes this game a perfect chill and relax style of game.
