Have you ever wanted to Nuzlocke a Pokemon game with only bad Pokemon?

Have you ever wanted to do that while doing economic research on resource management and risk-analysis?

If so, Pokemon Garbage Green is the game for you! At long last and over multiple years of development, we're releasing Garbage Green to the public.

Story:
The boundaries of what we couldn't change were set to: Opposing trainers and Pokemon Base Stats/Abilities/Learnsets. Everything else was fair game, but making the ridiculously easy trainers of FRLG difficult took A LOT of creativity and balance testing. That creativity was massively intensified by the main draw of the challenge, gauntlets.

Our one exception is that Koga's Weezing is lowered to level 39 for exp management between Koga and Sabrina

If you're unfamiliar with gauntlets in romhacks, here's a quick guide to how they work in Garbage Green:

Many routes, caves, and buildings trap you in and force you to fight many trainers
The vast majority of healing items are removed from the game and none are buyable before being able to challenge the Elite 4
All places with gauntlets are non-FLY-able, TELEPORT-able, and Escape Rope-able, so there are no ways to get out
Thus, managing your team's resources with HP and PP is extremely important
Many gauntlets are inaccessible after you leave with valuable items hidden behind optional trainers, and one gauntlet requires you get encounters mid-gauntlet

Encounters are designed to be as bad as possible for the upcoming split of the game, and were not oppressively powerful for the previous bossfight. However, because FRLG trainers are very underleveled and easy, for there to be sufficient encounter variety, many Pokemon will never evolve or have had their evolution delayed.

The question we asked for a mon to be in the game was "Is Mudkip trash after you can get it in GarbageGreen?" Not "Is the Mudkip line trash?"
For that reason a number of mid-tier mons are available lategame.

The game is optimized for the Nuzlocke challenge - Gauntlets will not work well if you're not nuzlocking as trainers don't reset when you wipe. That being said feel free to enjoy the game in whatever way you like.

If you have any constructive criticism or feedback or notice any bugs, please post them in the forum thread!

Features:

Edited encounters to have only Pokemon from the National Dex that are bad for FRLG. Every Route's Wild Pokemon has been changed.
Changed the starters to Slugma, Paras, and Goldeen
Changed static Pokemon encounters - many encounters that have overworld sprites are now Ditto
Restricted access to certain areas - linearized Kanto and provided many new NPCs to block off parts
Made trades an integral part of the resource management, trading good mons for bad mons holding items. You also always have an option to do the trades, because they ask for a mon from a location rather than a specific Pokemon.
Serious nerfs to PP of many moves to require more resource management. All Setup moves are now 1PP to make it not oppressively strong in bossfights
All infinitely purchasable TMs have been removed
The only healing items purchasable are Full Restores at Indigo Plateau
Rare Candies are sellable for $1 in the Pokemart
Poison out of battle has been disabled to make poison not an insta-wipe in gauntlets
EVs have been removed
Changed the opening cutscene
