Wrecking Crew (Japanese: レ ッ キ ン グ ク ル ー (Rekkingu Kurū?)) Is an action game released in 1985 that was developed and published by Nintendo. It was designed by Yoshio Sakamoto and was released as a launch title for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The player controls Mario (or Luigi, in multiplayer mode) and his objective is to destroy a whole series of objects with a hammer in each of the 100 levels of the game. Mario cannot jump due to the weight of the hammer. The player can select any level from the home screen. Each level takes place in a space divided by an invisible grid, of which each space can have some object. The game also introduced a new character, a construction manager named Spike (believed to be an early version of Wario), who chases after Mario and tries to disrupt him by throwing objects at him to try to make him fall towards the back of the stage. The player starts with 5 life and loses one when Mario makes contact with an enemy or a fireball. The game is over when Mario loses all of his lives.

Since Mario cannot jump, the player must think carefully about the order in which he destroys the objects. For example, if a player destroys a ladder too early, a wall may become unreachable and therefore the player will not be able to complete the level. Destroying multiple items in a row (usually with a chain of bombs) can score extra points, and occasionally items may appear as bonuses.

The game also has a level editor, which allows the player to design 4 levels. However, the level loading and saving features were designed for use with the Famicom Data Recorder, a cassette-type device that was released only in Japan, making the ability to save and load levels impossible for North American users (however, the American manual includes a note mentioning that these functions "have been programmed for the development of potential products"). When the game was released as a virtual console in North America, the save and load features were re-enabled using system memory, but the Nintendo 3DS version cannot use those features
