Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is a sandbox game for the Nintendo 3DS released in 2015. It is a spin-off entry in the Animal Crossing series where the player designs homes for clients. It is also the first entry in the series to be compatible with amiibo, utilizing a series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards that were released alongside the game.
The Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer is used for getting additional content in your game AND save certain game data to the amiibo figure. One amiibo can only hold save data for one game at a time. The Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer is required to use amiibo cards with Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, and Nintendo 2DS systems. The New Nintendo 3DS system doesn't require the use of the NFC Reader/Writer Pack, since it has a built-in NFC Reader.
